Harmattan AI, a defence company developing autonomous defence systems, has signed a strategic partnership with the Royal Armed Forces of Morocco to support the deployment of next-generation autonomous air defence capabilities and the development of a domestic defence industrial base.
The partnership reflects Morocco’s decision to deploy autonomous air defence capabilities at scale from 2026 onwards and to build a sovereign, technologically advanced defence industrial base. Under the agreement, Harmattan AI will support three key objectives: establishing manufacturing capabilities in Morocco to produce autonomous defence systems; creating a research and development centre dedicated to artificial intelligence in defence systems on Moroccan territory; and developing partnerships with Moroccan higher education and research institutions.
