South Sudan has joined the Smart Africa Trust Alliance (SATA), becoming the 17th country to sign the declaration promoting trusted digital services across the continent.
ICT Minister Michael Makuei Lueth signed the agreement alongside Smart Africa CEO Lacina Koné, signaling South Sudan’s commitment to secure, interoperable, and inclusive digital ecosystems.
The move aligns with the broader Smart Africa vision to drive socio-economic development through technology. SATA aims to unify member states under shared policies for data protection, digital identity, and cross-border digital services – laying the groundwork for a more connected and trusted digital Africa.
