Naver announced plans to build a next-generation AI data center in Morocco in partnership with NVIDIA, Nexus Core Systems, and investment firm Lloyd Capital.
The consortium will launch phase one in the fourth quarter, aiming to offer sovereign AI computing services across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
Leveraging Morocco’s strategic location – just 15 kilometers from Europe and connected by undersea fiber-optic cables – the data center will be powered entirely by renewable energy, with an eventual capacity of 500 megawatts.
The first phase includes a 40 MW AI supercomputing hub using NVIDIA’s latest Blackwell (GB200) GPUs, with future expansion planned. The group has also secured a renewable energy supply contract with energy firm TAQA.
Naver Cloud will operate the platform alongside Nexus Core Systems and Lloyd Capital. The project is designed to offer cost-effective, high-performance AI infrastructure for the European market.
