Airtel Malawi Plc has launched Africa’s first AI-powered Spam Alert Service, a major step in protecting customers from fraudulent SMS messages and boosting digital security nationwide.
Unveiled on July 3, the service offers real-time alerts for suspected spam messages and is accessible to all Airtel subscribers, including users of both smartphones and feature phones.
The launch was attended by Airtel Malawi Managing Director Aashish Dutt, Minister of Information & Digitalisation Moses Kunkuyu, and MACRA Director General Daud Suleman, underscoring the collaborative effort to combat digital fraud.
“This service is more than just technology—it’s a promise to our customers that their safety and trust are our top priorities,” said Dutt.
The innovation sets a new benchmark for digital safety in Africa and reflects Airtel Malawi’s commitment to proactive, AI-driven solutions in cybersecurity.
