Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has officially opened a state-of-the-art Science Museum in Addis Ababa, spotlighting the country’s growing investment in science, technology, and innovation.
The museum features immersive exhibits across five key fields: artificial intelligence, climate resilience, agriculture, sustainable energy and water, and aeronautics. The AI section, curated by the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute, is a standout—highlighting Ethiopia’s efforts to integrate AI into key sectors.
Visitors can explore interactive displays, including a robotic barista, conversational AI demos, and a smart city bicycle simulator, all designed to make advanced technologies engaging and accessible. The exhibits chart Ethiopia’s journey from early AI initiatives to current projects shaping its digital future.
More than just a showcase, the museum serves as an educational hub to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of Ethiopian scientists and technologists.
