A new ASUS report reveals that 77% of South African business leaders are ready to adopt AI tools immediately, with over half already seeing measurable benefits.
The 2025 Future of SMBs report highlights strong AI momentum among small and midsize businesses (SMBs) in South Africa. Key benefits cited include improved productivity (76%), better data insights (67%), and faster decision-making (54%). Additionally, 92% of respondents believe AI helps retain younger talent.
“There’s real momentum behind AI adoption in South Africa,” said Marce Heath, head of marketing at ASUS South Africa. “Businesses are using these tools to solve challenges and unlock new opportunities.”
The survey, which polled 101 South African business decision-makers, found that 43% expect positive outcomes from AI within two years. However, leaders remain cautious, emphasizing the importance of data security, system maintenance, and staying current with tech trends.
Globally, SMBs are turning to AI to expand into new markets and build long-term partnerships, according to ASUS’s accompanying white paper Why SMBs Are Backing AI for Global Growth.
To meet this demand, ASUS is rolling out AI-ready devices like the Expert P Series, designed for secure, hybrid work. The range includes AI-powered tools for real-time translation, meeting summaries, transcription, and smart optimization, all running on Windows 11 Pro.
“Technology should accelerate growth, not complicate it,” said Heath. “We’re equipping businesses with practical tools for today and tomorrow.”
