Western Cape Premier Alan Winde has confirmed that the allegations against suspended Minister Albert Fritz are related to cases of sexual misconduct.
In a statement released by his office on Sunday, Winde affirmed his admiration for those who came forward and that the Government of the Western Cape will fully support the independent investigation led by Advocate Jennifer Williams.
Whilst no criminal case has yet been opened by the police, Winde says that he is open to laying charges himself based on the outcome of the investigation.
Meanwhile, four other senior officials have also been suspended for their involvement in the alleged sex scandal.
