Gauteng leads the way in terms of vaccinations in South Africa.
In week one of Phase 2, just over 40,000 Pfizer vaccines were administered.
100,000 doses have been allocated for week one and two of the vaccine rollout in Gauteng, with hopes all of them will be used up by the end of this week.
The number of public vaccination sites has been increased from 28 to 63, which will be spread across all five regions in the province.
The private sector is also offering a helping hand.
The province says it can’t turn anyone away, as long as they are eligible and have registered on the electronic vaccination data system.
Government is also yet to announce when the over one million Johnson and Johnson vaccines being stored in the Eastern Cape will be released.
