The ANC’s decision to disband the Umkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans Association and MK council was correct.
This is according to ANC veteran, Ike Moroe.
Moroe says MKMVA was factionalised and had lost its objective.
The two organisations have not been able to hold a joint elective conference since the 2017 Nasrec conference.
However, the ruling party wants the groups to unite.
“You could see with the role that they have been playing in the ANC,” says Moroe.
The fact that they made pronouncement of support as well as appearing in combat gear as if in a war did not sit well with the party. Moroe says that it was against ANC policy.
Moroe says that the decision by the party will show who is factionalised.
