A fully-vaccinated Springbok squad is set to take on the British and Irish Lions team in their test series in July.
SA Rugby’s Director of Rugby Rassie Erasmus confirmed that the players will be part of a group of elite athletes that have received the Covid-19 vaccine but will still enter a “hard bubble” during the tour to ensure that there isn’t an outbreak.
Provincial franchises will also be required to be in a 10-day bubble before they play the Lions, and the majority of players in the series are either being vaccinated at the moment, or will be vaccinated soon.
The entire British and Irish Lions squad will also be vaccinated before they embark on the eight game trip to South Africa.
