From very humble origins in the South African media, Bonga Percy Vilakazi has worked his way up into being the director of some of the country’s most talked about and awarded television series. While he draws much of his inspiration for story lines from his own life, he also sees his role as one of mirroring key happenings in society and promoting discussion. Currently a series producer on The River, one of South Africa’s most-awarded TV shows, and creative producer on the new-ish telenovela Legacy, Bonga Percy is ready to shove aside his privacy policy in the hope that someone out there will learn a thing or two from his career journey.
