The Department of Health has confirmed that the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 1 503 796 with 1 429 new cases identified since the last report.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 8 892 515 with 24 856 new tests recorded since the last report.
The Department reported a further 113 deaths COVID-19 related deaths: Eastern Cape 2, Free State 12, Gauteng 17, Kwa-Zulu Natal 1, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 0, North West 69, Northern Cape 2 and Western Cape 10, which brings the total to 49 053 deaths.
Our recoveries now stand at 1 412 015, representing a recovery rate of 93,8%
Vaccination Rollout
The number of health care workers vaccinated under the Sisonke Protocol is 15 388 as of 6 pm 21 February 2021.
