PA’s McKenzie Claims He’s SA’s Best Bet for Dealing With Crime

Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader and ex-convict Gayton McKenzie said he was the greatest bet to deal with the country’s endemic crime as the party prepares to run in the 2018 elections.

McKenzie, who served time for armed robbery, has recently shifted from being a hardened criminal to taking a harsh line on crime.

He said that party members had given him a second opportunity after everyone else had thrown him out as a criminal.

McKenzie promised to put an end to crime during the party’s rally at Athlone Stadium on Saturday.

“Under my reign, I will put a halt to crime. I look at Cyril Ramaphosa, [Julius] Malema, and John Steenhuisen, and I don’t see anyone among them who can take on the truck mafia, the petrol mafia, the drug mafia – I was born for this moment.”

In the run-up to the hotly disputed elections, McKenzie stated that the PA also intended to rescue South Africans from the ruling African National Congress (ANC), which he claimed had driven millions of citizens into poverty.

“Some individuals approach me and argue the death penalty is barbaric. What is inhumane is the death of our children on the Cape Flats, the killing of farmers, and the shooting of individuals for cellphones.
