When the Nelson Mandela University could not find hand sanitiser, it made its own.
The university’s Institute for Chemical Technology started production on Monday and has already made 500 litres.
Director at the institute, Gary Dugmore, said that the project involved both staff and students.
“The university wanted hand sanitiser for the various entrances and work areas so that people can have their hands sanitised and wipe down handles, banisters and that sort of thing.”
