Energy regulator Nersa has granted Eskom an 18.65% tariff increase for the 2023/24 financial year.
This will kick in from April this year for Eskom’s direct customers.
ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba says that while the regulator considers Eskom’s reasoning behind the latest tariff increase, it fails to consider Eskom’s inability to hold its own accountable.
He says Nersa is essentially handing the Eskom and government more money to be looted.
