Health Minister Zweli Mkhize has denied ever saying or insinuating that the investigation against him is political.
The minister has said in a statement he doesn’t believe the probe has anything to do with ANC politics.
This is in response to an article that claims Mkhize said President Cyril Ramaphosa is targeting potential presidential candidates.
Mkhize says he’s the one that called for an independent investigation following the Auditor-General’s report.
The report by the AG found that irregularities in the contract between the Health Department and Digital Vibes.
The communications company is said to have benefitted by R150-million.
The minister says that he’ll cooperate with the investigation and will continue to focus on the vaccine rollout.
