The constitutionality of police raids to retrieve suspected looted goods has come into question.
Flanked by members of the SANDF, police officers have been conducting a retrieval operation in Vosloorus on the East Rand of Johannesburg.
Demanding receipts for goods or confiscating them.
From appliances to clothing, shoes, alcohol and groceries – where receipts could not be produced goods were confiscated.
One woman, who could show her receipts, was able to convince officers to leave her clothes and appliances.
Others could not. They say they are being left with nothing.
