Joshlin Smith Case Postponed to July

The kidnapping and human trafficking case involving missing six-year-old Joshlin Smith has been postponed pending more investigation.

On Monday, dozens of people gathered outside the Vredenburg Magistrates Court to continue the search for Joshlin. She went missing from her home in Middelpos, Saldanha Bay, some three months ago.Joshlin’s mother, Racquel Smith, Jacquen Appolis, Stevano van Rhyn, and Lourentia Lombaard returned to court on Monday morning after abandoning their bail petitions.

Aradhana Heeramun, the state prosecutor, told the court that the investigation into Joshlin’s disappearance was still ongoing and that police were following up on all leads.

Heeramun stated that forensic testing and the accused’s mobile records were being reviewed as part of the investigation.

The matter has been pushed out to July 15th so that the State can continue its investigation.
