Gerda Steyn Sets New Up Run Course Record On Way To Third Straight Comrades Title

South Africa’s Gerda Steyn shattered the up run course record, claiming her third consecutive victory in the Comrades Ultramarathon on Sunday.

Beginning her dominance early in the 85.9km race from Durban to Pietermaritzburg, Steyn crossed the finish line with a record time of 5 hours, 49 minutes, and 43 seconds, placing her in the top 25 of all participants.

This win marks Steyn’s third title, making her only the fifth woman to achieve this milestone.

Runner-up Alexandra Morozova from Russia finished in 6:05:12, followed by Courtney Olsen of the United States.
