Deliberations of the ANC’s National Working Committee will be made public later on Tuesday.
The party had given members facing criminal charges until last week to step aside.
It’s believed the Committee, which met on Monday, was discussing lists of those members at its meeting.
Last week, ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa defended the step-aside resolution.
The State Capture Inquiry quizzed him about the ANC’s inability to take decisive action against those accused of serious crimes such as fraud and corruption.
Some party members have already indicated that they will challenge their removal.
