The ANC says it is looking into which charges to bring against its suspended secretary-general Ace Magashule.
This comes after he failed to apologise to the party after he tried to suspend President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The party’s national working committee met this week to discuss Magashule’s fate.
It resolved to additionally investigate his allies Tony Yengeni and Carl Niehaus for being divisive and defiant.
“The presenter cannot provide charges without a thorough investigation,” said ANC deputy secretary-general Jessie Duarte.
“He has to be convinced also that there has been a breach. The obvious breaches would be yes, in 48 hours no apology. But it is not correct to discuss those matters. Because I cannot disadvantage anyone.”
Magashule will not be allowed to appeal his temporary suspension.
