1 912 New COVID-19 Cases Reported In SA

The Department of Health confirmed that the cumulative number of detected COVID-19 cases is 723 682 with 1 912 new cases identified since the last report.

The cumulative number of tests conducted to date is 4 800 823 with 23 214 new tests conducted since the last report.

The Department reported 66 COVID-19 related deaths: 21 from Eastern Cape, 2 from Gauteng, 7 from the Free State, 8 from KwaZulu Natal, 2 from Mpumalanga, 18 from North West, 4 from Northern Cape and 4 from Western Cape.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 19 230. Of the 66 deaths reported, 10 were reported to have occurred in the past 24-48 hours: 1 in the Eastern Cape, 3 in the Free State, 2 from Gauteng, and 4 from Western Cape.

South Africa’s recoveries now stand at 653 052 which translates to a recovery rate of 90%.
