The Department of Health have confirmed that the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases for South Africa is 1 535 423 with 1 462.
Testing Data:
The cumulative total of tests conducted is 9 584 923 with 28 519 tests completed since the last report.
Deaths and Recoveries
A further 311 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 1, Free State 21, Gauteng 21, Kwa-Zulu Natal 138, Limpopo 43, Mpumalanga 6, North West 65, Northern Cape 3 and Western Cape 13, which brings the total to 52 035 deaths.
Some provinces have undertaken data verification processes backdated to December 2020- during this process additional data has been captured and recorded.
Our cumulative recoveries today stand at 1 461 196 representing a recovery rate of 95%.
Vaccination Rollout
The number of health care workers vaccinated under the Sisonke Protocol stands at 182 983 as at 18.30, 19 March 2021.
