We've all written them — love letters, hate letters, embarrassing letters — intimate notes that see us at our best, our worst, our most poetic. Sometimes we keep them, and sometimes we throw them away.

That's what Found is all about: thrown-away letters, notes, napkins and pieces of paper on which people wrote their thoughts and feelings, are found, read and posted on this website.

It all began when one the founders (no pun intended) of the website discovered a rather angry note on his car's windscreen. The writer had mistaken his car for her boyfriend's car and vented at his perceived infidelity.

Mesmerised by it, he showed it to some friends and an annual magazine was born out of it, and other "found" notes. It grew into a website where visitors can post notes that they discovered too.

The latest note is shown on the home page — www.foundmagazine.com — and the About section is a good for some background information and that note that started it all.
