SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has confirmed that he is interested in signing former Kaizer Chiefs striker Shaun Bartlett for the forthcoming season.

According to The Star newspaper, Bartlett's contract with Chiefs expired on 30 June and the 'Amakhosi' chose not to renew it, leaving the former Bafana Bafana striker free to talk to other clubs.

"I would certainly be interested. He (Bartlett) has quality and can bring something to the club," said Hunt.

"I have (Katlego) Mashego and Fikru (Tefera) away and at the moment I have only three strikers at the club. I think Shaun would suit our way of playing."

Meanwhile, Bartlett's agent Glynn Binkin has confirmed that the former Bafana Bafana marksman was considering his options, but also lashed out at Chiefs for the way they had treated his client.

"It's not fair - they (Chiefs) just haven't come back to us at all," said Binkin. Bartlett signed for Chiefs in 2006, but never quite lived up to the expectations - showing only flashes of the brilliance that he displayed whilst successfully campaigning in Europe.
