Orlando Pirates winger Lebohang 'Cheeseboy' Mokoena has ended all speculation over his future by signing a new three-year contract with the club.

Mokoena — who was rumoured to be on his way out, with Mamelodi Sundowns mentioned as a possible new destination — said he was pleased to have extended his stay at Pirates.

"Now I can just concentrate on playing soccer this season," a pleased Mokoena told the official Pirates website.

He added: "I'm very happy I renewed my contract with Orlando Pirates, so now I can just concentrate on doing what I do best.

"Pirates have been very good to me over the years and I've enjoyed my stay at the club, therefore it was only natural that I sign a new deal."

Mokoena is currently recovering from an ankle injury which has kept him on the sidelines for over a month.

"Mokoena has been in rehab for the last couple of weeks and is recovering well. He is expected to start training with the rest of the team in the next couple of days," said club Physiotherapist John Williams.
