Ajax Cape Town have confirmed that they have concluded a swap deal that will see Kaizer Chiefs striker Mabhuti Khanyeza joining the team and defender Dominic Isaacs heading in the opposite direction.
Khanyeza — who has been in the news for all the wrong reasons these past few weeks — is seen as perfect replacement for the striking duo of Nathan Paulse and Russell Mwafulirwa, both of whom have moved to European clubs.
"We had no hesitation when this deal was presented as we were able to sign a top South African striker to replace the void left by Paulse and Mwafulirwa’s departure," Ajax CEO John Comitis told the club's official website.
He added: "Mabhuti has the experience and strike-power to lead our attack and he should find our offensive gameplan to his liking."
Khanyeza started his career at Maritzburg City, before moving to Golden Arrows where he spent a couple of years before making his move to Chiefs.
He scored 10 goals in 32
appearances for Chiefs in the 2007/08 Absa Premiership season.
Comitis, meanwhile, also wished Isaacs well at Chiefs, saying: "Dominic has been at Ajax for nine years and he deserved this move after giving us excellent service on and off the field.
"He is a model professional and we wish him well. We also knew that Muhsin is a great admirer of Dominic and wanted to sign him last season when he left for Chiefs," concluded Comitis.
