Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is expecting a tough match when the 'Red Devils' meet Kaizer Chiefs in a Vodacom Challenge match at Newlands Stadium on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 3.30pm).

Speaking at a press conference at Newlands on Friday, Ferguson said Chiefs always gave his club problems.

"This is the fourth time we are playing Chiefs," said the Red Devils manager. "Our first match was in 1993 and they gave us a tough time then. So it's not easy to beat them."

Chiefs beat a young United side in 2006 to win the Vodacom Challenge and 'Amakhosi' fans who are expected to pack the stadium to capacity, will be expecting the same feat on Saturday.

But Ferguson has warned Chiefs to expect a United backlash, saying: "We brought a strong squad here and with England not qualifying for the Euro 2008; it meant that my players had more rest.

"The boys are looking forward to playing Chiefs on Saturday."

Meanwhile, Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral chose to be diplomatic about Saturday's game.

"The game will be a learning curve for me and my boys. We want to learn more about their precision play and hopefully that will help us in the league next season," he said.

Chiefs are expected to unleash their new signings — that include Venezuelan international Jose Torrealba who is expected to form a deadly combination with Thuso Phala — on Saturday.

The likes of Burundian international Valery Nahayo, Reneilwe Letsholonyane Gordon Gilbert and Thabang Rooi will also be out to impress for their new club.

With all of the R60 and R120 tickets having sold out for the Western Cape leg of this year's Vodacom Challenge, only a limited amount of R250 stand tickets and suite tickets remain for Saturday.

Supporters without tickets are advised to purchase their stand tickets from Computicket, Checkers, Checkers-Hyper and Shoprite outlets nationwide in order to avoid missing out on the Mother City's premier night of soccer action.

Tickets will not be on sale at the stadium on matchday and the stadium gates will open at 11am on Saturday.
