Kaizer Chiefs Football Manager Bobby Motaung has confirmed that three clubs — including Mamelodi Sundowns — have made enquiries about their wayward striker Mabhuti Khanyeza.
Khanyeza has been in the news for all the wrong reasons these past past weeks, the KwaZulu-Natal-born striker going AWOL after the Phakisa Tournament. He then came back... only to disappear once again.
Now it seems Chiefs are fed up and are ready to listen to offers from teams interested in taking Khanyeza off their hands.
"There have been meetings between the club, the player and his agent, Glyn Binkin as from Monday and we had another meeting again on Thursday," Motaung told the official Chiefs website.
He added: "The player has not reported to work for a while and this has obviously drawn interest from other clubs. Subsequent to that, three clubs, Maritzburg United, Ajax Cape Town and Mamelodi Sundowns, have made enquiries; however Ajax Cape Town have approached Kaizer
Chiefs officially for the player."
Motaung said discussions were still in progress with the player and Kaizer Chiefs: "There is nothing final. It is expected this will be resolved shortly."
