Zuma backs Bafana

Veteran Bafana Bafana striker Sibusiso Zuma believes South Africa have enough firepower to upset Nigeria when the two countries meet in a crucial 2010 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the EPRU Stadium on Saturday.
"We haven't scored a lot of goals against them in the past, but I believe we now have the players who can do the business," Zuma told the Cape Times.
He added: "We must just make sure we take our chances in front of goal. They are a very good side, but we are ready."
Zuma said the Bafana players were heartened by their performance in the friendly international against Australia at Loftus Road in London last month. South Africa scored a goal in each half in drawing 2-2 with the Socceroos.
"The guys took a lot of confidence out of that game. They showed a lot of character. Hopefully we can do the same against Nigeria by taking the game to them," he added.
Meanwhile, Bafana midfielder Siyabonga Nkosi — a goal-scorer against
Australia — will be looking to rekindle his deadly partnership with Blackburn striker Benni McCarthy.
"It's easy to play around (McCarthy) and run off him, because he is a very intelligent player with so much experience," said Nkosi.
"I'm learning a lot from the whole experience. It was good to score against Australia and a big confidence booster. But I'm over that now and looking forward to scoring more."
Nkosi is also relishing the chance to get stuck into the 'Super Eagles', despite the size of some of their midfielders.
"It's good to be back in the squad, but there's no time for excitement, because it's a new challenge that I must face up to. The Nigerians have some big and strong players, but I never get intimidated and our whole team will not be intimidated," concluded Nkosi.
