BidVest Wits coach Roger de Sa declared himself 'happy' with his team's 2-0 victory over Santos in their opening Absa Premiership fixture at BidVest Stadium on Wednesday evening.
"I think we played well and could have scored more. But overall I am very happy," De Sa said.
He added: "I think the guys wasted a few chances, but they're a young side and will learn from this. I am also not happy with the way we conceded two penalties.
"We will work on it and improve on this."
Meanwhile, Santos coach David Bright admitted that his team were jaded and also blamed the travel arrangements for their dismal opening-night performance.
"I can't blame a specific player. They were all not focused in the first half, but in the second half they played better I think," said the former Botswana army general said.
"I also don't like the travel arrangements. We landed this afternoon, had a snack and then a rest.
"This is obviously not
good for us. Next time we have to be in the place (where we play) at least a day before the time."
Man-of-the-Match and debutant Wits midfielder Clifford Ulna was a happy man afterwards, but promised to deliver even more this season.
"I am not 100% happy with my performance. I definitely think I can and will improve," said the former Pretoria University midfielder.
"I've been here for two months now and am really enjoying it. It was easy to get to know the guys and although it took some time to get used to Roger's methods, I can say that I understand what he wants from us," concluded Mulenga.
