Ajax Cape Town striker Russel Mwafulirwa will leave the Cape Town-based side to further his career in Europe, the club announced on Monday.
A statement from the 'Urban Warriors' read as follows: "Ajax Cape Town is proud to announce that Russel Mwafulirwa has signed for IFK Norrköping F.C. in Sweden for the new season.
"Russell served Ajax Cape Town with commitment and enthusiasm that demonstrates his work ethic as a true professional. He played 34 matches, 28 of which he was in the starting line-up and six of which he came on as a sub.
"Last season he scored eight goals and his exploits was one of the catalysts that propelled Ajax into contention for the ABSA Premiership.
"Mwafulirwa starts with IFK Norrköping F.C as from 1 July, 2008."
IFK Norrköping F.C — who are are based in Norrköping — are currently playing in the highest Swedish league, Allsvenskan.
In 2007, Norrköping were promoted to Allsvenskan after five years in the second highest league, Superettan. Norrköping's colours are blue and white.
