Blue Bulls coach Frans Ludeke confirmed on Monday that Springboks Victor Matfield, Fourie du Preez, Pierre Spies and Danie Rossouw will immediately start to train with the Bulls.

Bryan Habana is still struggling with his hamstring injury and will only be able to return to the training field at a later stage, but whether these players will be able to play against the Sharks in Durban on Saturday will only be decided on Wednesday.

Ludeke told the official Blue Bulls website that another meeting with SA Rugby will take place on Wednesday, but in the meantime Matfield, Du Preez, Spies and Rossouw will be going through their paces with the Bulls.

However, their Springbok team-mate Bakkies Botha will miss the entire Currie Cup due to injury.

Other good news from the Bulls' camp is that there are no injuries following Friday's drubbing of Western Province and all the players are up for selection for Saturday's match in Durban.

The Blue Bulls put themselves back at the top of the Currie Cup log standings after a stunning 37-6 victory over the struggling Newlands-based outfit on Friday.

The scores were locked at 6-6 at half-time in the Loftus Versfeld clash, but in the second period, Wikus van Heerden and his troops demolished the team from Cape Town with four cracking tries.

Western Province are now nine points adrift from a semifinal spot. The last semifinal placing is currently occupied by the Lions in fourth position on the log with 26 points.

Western Province also only have five league games remaining to catch up with the front-runners in the Currie Cup.

One piece of good news for the Capetonians is the fact that they should soon be reinforced by a number of Springboks returning to their fold.
