National Sevens coach Paul Treu could be lost to the Springbok team at the end of 2010, Die Son newspaper reported on Wednesday.
Treu said he has to make "vital career decisions" in the next two years. He also admitted that he had an offer from abroad as well as two offers from within South Africa. Treu's big dream is to make South Africa the world champions, but without his strongest side it will stay an uphill battle. Stefan Basson and MJ Mentz have decided to continue their careers in Italy, while there is no guarantee that the Cheetahs Super 14 franchise will release his latest stars Robert Ebersohn and Wilton Pietersen for Sevens duty in future. In another blow to his team, Treu also admitted that Kabamba Floors has signed a contract with the Cheetahs ruling him out of next season's international fixtures as well as the World Cup in Dubai from 5-7 March. Season after season Treu has had to start afresh looking for new talent to replace his generals. And as the pressure mounts for him to win the George event in December for the first time, Treu has already said it is not going to be easy without so many of his first-choice players.365
