It might not be time to trash the Currie Cup entirely, but it sure is time to change
the format...
Rossouw to miss out

The Blue Bulls will miss the services of World Cup utility forward Danie Rossouw for their Currie Cup fixture against the Boland Cavaliers in Wellington on Saturday.
Rossouw, who is struggling with niggles in his neck and back, gets a well deserved break - but fellow World Cup heroes Wikus van Heerden, Fourie du Preez and Wynand Olivier should all be able to play against the Cavaliers.
Pedrie Wannenburg, seemingly a forgotten Springbok, has been cleared to play on Saturday no doubt due to his outstanding performance against the Cheetahs last weekend.
Wikus Van Heerden will not take any contact during the week but has been cleared to play.
Wynand Olivier, who injured his elbow against the Cheetahs, will certainly be considered for the match.
Du Preez's hand injury is now something of the past as his fellow Springbok, Chiliboy Ralepelle, is also available for the Blue Bulls showdown in Wellington.
Springbok centre
Wayne Julies (knee) as well as number eight Dewald Potgieter (hamstring) and scrumhalf Heini Adams (tibia) will only be available for selection in two week's time.
Blue Bulls coach Frans Ludeke said he wants to pick his strongest side for Saturday's match. He feels the Cavaliers have earned a lot of respect in the early rounds of the Currie Cup and the Blue Bulls do not want to falter in Wellington.
Ludeke was pleased with the Blue Bulls win over the Cheetahs and felt the team's defensive effort and line-out play won them the match.
"I also think we are making a step-up in our broken field play, but we must continue to improve in all areas of our game," Ludeke added.
Blue Bulls manager Wynie Strydom commended the return of Fourie Du Preez, though it seems Rossouw will be sorely missed after a star performance against the Cheetahs.
"Fourie du Preez proved to be incredibly valuable in the last 30 minutes. I was also impressed with the
way our loose forwards played and Danie Rossouw had a remarkable game," Strydom said.
