Suspended SABC CEO Dali Mpofu is seeking legal action this week to challenge his suspension.

Mpofu told Sapa on Monday he was not yet certain when his case would be taken to court.

"I'm not sure yet. I'm waiting for my lawyers," he said.

SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago confirmed on Monday that the corporation had received a letter from Mpofu.

Weekend media reported that the planned legal action would be brought at the Johannesburg High Court on Wednesday or Thursday.

Last week Wednesday, Mpofu was suspended, allegedly for failing to implement the decisions of the SABC board.
