A wheelchair-bound woman, her caregiver and her husband were killed
in an attack on their home in Florida, on the West Rand, on Friday
Johannesburg police have confirmed.
Captain Siphiwe Ndlovu said an 87-year-old woman was severely
wounded in the attack at 1pm.
She and the other three sustained head wounds, he said. "We cannot
confirm with what object the wounds were made with or the motive for
the killings."
Police could also not say whether anything was stolen during the
attack.
The gruesome scene was discovered by the couple's daughter and her
fiancé when they returned from a holiday on Friday afternoon.
Netcare 911 spokesman Mark Stokoe said the elderly survivor was the
girl's grandmother. She was stabilised at the scene before being taken
to hospital.
