Convicted fraudster Schabir Shaik is still a patient at Durban's
Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal's health department said
on Wednesday.
Spokesperson Sibonela Msomi told Sapa that media reports stating Shaik
was back in prison were incorrect.
"He is still being treated at hospital and we don't know when he
will be discharged," said Msomi.
Shaik was admitted to the hospital early in April for a
deteriorating blood pressure problem.
Shaik's brother Yunus told Sapa he was unaware that his brother had
been discharged from hospital.
Correctional services spokesperson Manelisi Wolela was not immediately
available to comment.
