Construction workers at the 2010 Peter Mokaba Sports Complex in Polokwane have downed tools, the SABC reported on Friday.

It is the fourth time the workers are downing tools since construction began last year.

They are demanding bonuses.

The complex is one of the stadia that will host FIFA World Cup soccer matches in 2010.

National Union of Mine Workers spokesperson Emmanuel Mogale has declined to comment.

The 2010 World Cup Chief Executive Officer, Danny Jordaan, on Thursday rubbished reports from Spain that Brazil was ready to host the 2010 showpiece, should South African not be able to host the event.
