Skierlik murder accused Johan Nel on Monday had his case transferred
to the Mmabatho High Court, Mafikeng.
He appeared in the Swartuggens Magistrate's Court, where his case
was transferred for trial in Mafikeng from 17-21 November.
Nel was facing four counts of murder, 10 of attempted murder, a
charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of ammunition
and damage to property.
He allegedly went on a shooting spree in the Skierlik informal
settlement in the North West earlier this year. The attack, which was
believed to have been racially motivated, left four people dead and 12
wounded.
Outside the court close to 100 Swartruggens residents protested.
