Dear readers,

Welcome to the brand new iafrica.com!

It's been awhile since iafrica.com had a nip and a tuck to make your browsing experience even more attractive, so we thought it was high time to give you a completely new iafrica.com; one with groundbreaking design, upgraded content and all the gizmos you could wish for.

These are just some of the new features of the new iafrica.com...

  • A revolving homepage scroll bar which shows varying featured stories throughout the day
  • Multiple Top Stories to give you easier access to content from throughout iafrica.com
  • Customisable news sections which allow you to select which news you'd like to see where on the page
  • Bigger images and better galleries which are easier to navigate
  • A slimmed down, user-friendly navigation which has more targeted sections, so you're not faced with a long list of possible directories to surf to
  • And, if that wasn't enough, you'll still get the same mix of original, entertaining content that has made iafrica.com one of South Africa's best-loved portals for over a decade. There are also a host of new tools in the pipeline which will be rolled out across the site over the next few months.

While we know that sometimes change can be confusing, we've put hundreds of hours into building a vastly improved iafrica.com and we know it's going to bring you hours of web surfing pleasure.

The new site is based on painstaking research of global internet trends and technology, but ahead of the bells and whistles we've prioritised what users want. Some sections have been integrated into others (such as Games, now within our Cooltech section) and some have been laid to rest (such as Careers, for now!), while other have been given life of their own, such as our new stand-along Food section. Take a little time to get to know the site and we guarantee you will be very pleasantly surprised.

We'd love to hear what you think of the new iafrica.com — both positive and constructive — and if you think some things could still be improved please do let us know. Moving a site the size of iafrica.com (there are around 600 000 articles in our database) is bound to throw up a few gremlins, so give us a day or so to work out the kinks and please feel free to let us know if you spot any problems.

Motivational speaker Price Pritchett said that "Change always comes bearing gifts," and the same applies on iafrica.com! Whoever sends us the most useful, insightful or just plain entertaining feedback will win themselves a sleek and sexy new iPod Nano worth R2000, so get your feedback to us by 25 April.

Until then, keep surfing iafrica.com.
