Two people were killed and one was critically injured when they were attacked at a creche in Kempton Park, paramedics said on Monday.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Nick Dollman said it was believed the three had been found around 7am on Monday when the first parent arrived to drop off a child.

Two of the victims, a man in his 60s and a woman — believed to be a domestic workers — had already died as a result of their injuries when paramedics arrived.

A 66-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition, said Dollman.

All three had sustained severe head injuries.

"It is unclear when the attack took place and there was a strong police presence at the scene," said Dollman.

Police could not immediately comment.
