Peugeot have taken the first three places on the Le Mans 24 Hour grid after dominating two days of qualifying.

Stephane Sarrazin's lap time from Wednesday (3:18.513) nabbed pole position for the No.8 908 HDi. It's followed by the team's No.9 and No.7 cars, thanks to Franck Montagny and Nicolas Minassian times respectively.

"I don't know how fast this car can go, but that lap was very close to the limit," Sarrazin told autosport.

"It was not easy, when you are pushing like that you have to be precise and I did a very good lap without any mistakes.

"But the car felt amazing and it has a really good balance so I'm very confident for the race. I hope that we can still be faster than the three Audis."

In fourth spot, six seconds off the pace, is the No.2 Audi R10 thanks to the 3:23.847 time of Allan McNish in Thursday's evening session. Fifth is the No.3 Audi driven by Lucas Luhr, Alex Premat and Mike Rockenfeller.

Thanks to a series of fast laps from Stefan Mucke, the Lola Aston Martin starts sixth, ahead of the Biela/Pirro/Werner No.1 Audi.
