The future of Formula 1 team Super Aguri was cast into doubt on Wednesday when it was announced that potential buyers of the stable had pulled out.

The team issued a statement confirming that the group originally interested in purchasing them had now withdrawn.

"Super Aguri Formula 1 team confirms that it has been informed by Magma Group, the potential purchasers of the team, that its investors no longer wish to fund the intended acquisition," the team announced in a statement.

"It is with deep regret that Aguri Suzuki is now forced to consider the future of the team, however negotiations with other parties continue.

"The team will issue a further statement in due course."

The team — whose drivers are Briton Anthony Davidson and Japan's Takuma Sato — is yet to score a point this season after three races.
