What could be better than the heady combination of fine wine, food and fashion in a venue so beautiful it cannot fail to take your breath away? Enter the one-of-a-kind Cape Times V&A Waterfront Wine Affair, which this year promises to indeed be an affair to remember.
While this event has for many years been extremely popular, this year it is to be elevated to an entirely new and exciting level, one at which wine, food and fashion lovers can revel in their love for 'all things delectable'.
Visitors to the Cape Times V&A Waterfront Wine Affair can expect to be overwhelmed by over 300 wines being showcased by 75 of the Cape's top wineries, delicious wine and food pairings and sumptuous gourmet delicacies in a spectacular brand new venue: a state-of-the-art marquee on the rooftop of the Breakwater parking garage (above Aston Martin and Standard Bank).
Overlooking the ocean and with picturesque views of Table Mountain, visitors can stroll through the winelands, tasting wines from well-known and respected wineries.
Weave through the myriad of stands and sample delicacies such as: local and imported cheeses, oysters, charcuterie, olives and olive oils, pestos, preserves, chocolates and nougat.
A large number of Waterfront restaurants are taking part this year, whipping up delicious canapés to accompany the wines on show, including Balducci's, Belthazar, City Grill, The Greek Fisherman, Jewel of India, as well as newcomers Meloncino, Sevruga and Häagen-Dazs.
This year a portion of ticket sales will once again go to the The Pebbles Project, a charity offering educational support to children with special needs in the Cape Winelands.
