Sloggi has launched a search for South Africa's best bum as part of a global modeling competition — Show me your Sloggi.
The competition will take place over approximately three months in more than 31 participating countries. Entrants are invited to upload photos at www.sloggi.co.za where the finalists will be selected by an online vote.
A shortlist of South African candidates will then be selected by Sloggi to take part in a national final in Cape Town at the end of October. The overall national winner will go on to the international final in Paris.
Says Graeme Jones of Sloggi South Africa: "Sloggi is the biggest seller of briefs in Europe. We pride ourselves in the technology behind the design of our products and of course the colours combined with the great styles available. Sloggi Colours is a highlight on our production calendar and ties in perfectly with the Show me your Sloggi competition."
This year will see the second Show me your Sloggi competition in South Africa. In 2007, Lianry Jordaan from Middelburg was the local winner. Since winning the competition, Lianry has appeared in fashion shoots in and in select local Sloggi campaigns.
The first Show me your Sloggi competition proved phenomenally successful: over a period of three months, 130 000 visitors to the website voted for the more than 15 000 candidates to choose the national finalists who competed in the event in Munich.
Jones continues, "the Show me your Sloggi campaign is great opportunity and experience for the finalists. This year, the South African winner will receive R 5000 worth of Sloggi lingerie and an all expenses paid trip to the international event in Paris. The overall Show me your Sloggi winner will receive a modeling contract for the next international Sloggi campaign, €15 000, one year's worth of underwear and… insurance for her bottom!"
