'Sex and the City: The Movie' will see one of the main characters of the popular TV series dying.
Cynthia Nixon, who reprises her role of Miranda Hobbes in the forthcoming film, revealed that the loss would be a serious knock to Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker.
"A character dies in the movie. There's a loss that happens that's pretty tough," Nixon revealed, but refused to divulge who the person is.
"Something significant happens to Carrie, and it really forces her to ask questions that you have to ask about yourself."
The revelation has sparked speculation over the identity of the unlucky character. It could be Samantha Jones (played by Kim Cattrall) who, in the final season, was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Carrie's love interest Mr Big, who has open heart surgery towards the end of the series, is another possibility.
Or it could be Kristin Davis' character Charlotte York-Goldenblatt who may suffer complications from her pregnancy.
