Alicia Keys and Jack White are doing the new 007 theme song. Sorry Amy, Duffy and Leona.

Following months of speculation that saw a string of British R&B/soul singers including Amy Winehouse, Leona Lewis and Duffy linked to the song for the forthcoming James Bond film, the nod has gone to the 'No One' singer and the frontman of The White Stripes and The Raconteurs.

Their offering, 'Another Way To Die', is the first duet in the 45-year history of Bond soundtracks. It has been written and produced by White who will also handle drumming duties.

The 22nd film in the legendary spy series, 'Quantum of Solace' is released on 7 November, with the soundtrack arriving on 28 October. Long-time Bond composer David Arnold will once again write the film's score.

The forthcoming 007 film is the second starring Daniel Craig, with Marc Foster making his debut as an action director after cutting his teeth on smaller, artier films like 'The Kite Runner' and 'Finding Neverland'. The screenplay is by the team of Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, with Paul Haggis — the same men who penned 2006's 'Casino Royale'.

Craig is again supported by Judi Dench as M, with Olga Kurylenko his requisite love interest and Mathieu Amarilic the villain.

The first original Bond theme was created for 'From Russia With Love' in 1963 by Matt Monro, an English cabaret star. He has since been followed by the likes of Paul McCartney and Wings, Tom Jones, Carly Simon, Shirley Bassey, a-ha, Duran Duran, Madonna and Chris Cornell, who sang 'I Know Your Name' for the previous Bond outing.
