Shia LaBeouf's mom has revealed that the actor is fine following Sunday's car crash.
"I'm at the hospital right now, he's doing fine," Shayna LaBeouf told E! News.
The actor is in Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre where he received "extensive hand surgery".
His mother has been at his side since he was hospitalised in the early hours of Sunday morning after crashing and flipping his green Ford pick-up truck.
The 22-year-old actor's spokesperson revealed that his left hand, knee and head had been injured in the accident. Neither his passenger, believed to be his 'Transformers 2' co-star Isabel Lucas, nor the woman whose car he collided with, were seriously injured.
LaBeouf's mother didn't give specifics about his condition but was appreciative of the public's concern.
"Thank you, thank you," the emotional Shayna said, choking back tears.
The 'Transformers' star was judged to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident and booked at the hospital for drunk driving. He faces a court date in August.
The 'Disturbia' actor, who is currently filming 'Transformers 2', is expected to be out of action for a month to recover from the surgery.
"He's 22, he could bounce back in no time," a source at the film revealed, adding that the 'Indiana Jones' actors' absence from the set shouldn't push back the film's June 2009 release date as there are many scenes that can be shot without him.
Australian actress Lucas was discharged after receiving treatment for minor injuries and was back on the 'Transformers 2' set on Monday morning.
