The news has been full of the story of Goldfish signing their global deal with Pacha records. The deal sees their second album, 'Perceptions of Pacha' being taken into the global market with Pacha, and being available with serious backing in all the major territories around the globe.
Locally, the jazzy dance duo has licensed the album to Sony BMG and the debut album is now available on shelf in South Africa.
To celebrate their international and local record deals and to bring more of their signature Fishy sound to the South Africa audience, the band is embarking on an extensive national tour before they depart for Europe in June.
The international fairytale of this story does not end with the record deal. The band have just returned to South Africa from Miami, USA where they played the legendary Winter Music Conference alongside the likes of Macy Gray, Franky Knuckles and The Body Rockers.
This tour also included a stop off in New York at Pacha New York and a week performing in LA. They return to South Africa for a couple of months to tour the country before heading off to Ibiza Spain where they will feature in a three-month residency at Pacha, their record labels flagship nightclub. They will play there every from 20 June until mid-September with the likes of Faithless, Basement Jaxx and The Swedish House Mafia.
"This is an incredible dream come true for us," said an excited Dominic Peters, the bass and keyboard playing half of the duo. "We have put in a lot of work over the last three years and taken a lot of chances. To have it pay off like this is incredible and we are excited, grateful and nervous all at the same time!"
The South African national tour sees Goldfish travel from Cape Town to Johannesburg and many other towns in between. 'Perceptions of Pacha' is now available in all good CD stores and online, so ask for it wherever you go.
